The Company GIRA Solidário was founded on January 26, 2002, at the initiative of Swiss publicist Stephan Hofmann, journalists Patrícia Nascimento and Moema Urquiza. It was born with the purpose of becoming a communication agency specialized in the rights of children and adolescents.
However, in the second year of activities, he expanded his work front and also started social projects for direct assistance and actions to mobilize society, with the objective of actively promoting and defending children's rights.
In 2006, the GIRA Solidário branch in Switzerland was founded as a non-profit association. The main objective of the that branch is to promote the work of GIRA Solidário Brasil, establish contacts with international organizations and mobilize resources in Europe for Brazil's programs and projects.
Gira Solidário - Promotion and Defense of Children and Adolescents is a Non-Governmental Organization, non-profit, certified as OSCIP (Civil Society Organization of Public Interest) that operates in Mato Grosso do Sul.
After the assassination of his daughter Maria Graziele, he decided to be a part of the fight against femicide.
I barley remembered Stephan, despite having been an important part of my life as a little girl, when, 20 and some years later, I have met him again at the funeral of my uncle. So, he re-entered into my life just enough time to accompany my marriage and then disappear again. Some years ago, I visited my aunty and learned that Stephan is living in Brazil for the last 15 years… We reconnected again, and this time for good. I learnt that he opened a company in Mato Grosso do Sul, and that, after having seen the "favelas", he changed his life! I admire his amazing commitment and work that he and his staff are doing.
Real love a mother would give...
"Amici di Adriana" is a solidarity project for Cape Verde that started in 2016 by the Tabanka non-profit association.
Adriana is a kind lady, always smiling, who, on the island of S. Nicolau, gathers fifteen children around her, from a few months to 14 years. They are not her children, but she treats them as if they were: a roof, a bed, clothes, food, hygiene, school, and recreation ... all a healthy child needs, and above all a lot of love.
But, Adriana lived in a house that was about to collapse...
...Tabanka onlus has restored the house thanks to the generous contribution of many friends.
Today, after five years of commitment and interventions, the house is modernized and enlarged, and it lacks only the tiles for the roof, everything else is well finished, bright, clean; the basis for a dignified life, where abandoned and orphaned children find a real family life again.
Lourdes and Marzio, the heart of the initiative, hope and wish for a little last help, to have the missing tiles on the roof as quick as possible. Last step to transform the house in a real home.
If you want to be a part of the family's final happiness ...
