Read the amazing, touching story about Alma at the end...

Alma Tedde was born in 1996 into a Swiss-Sardinian family of musicians. She received her first cello lessons at the age of four, first at the Bern Conservatory and later at the Basel Music Academy. Chamber music and orchestra projects have taken her to many countries in Europe as well as to Russia, South Africa and South America. From April 2015 to winter 2019, she did her Bachelor studies with Prof. Jean-Guihen Queyras at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg im Breisgau (D). Afterwards she continued to study there with Prof. Jean-Guihen Queyras in the Master as well as Master historical performance practice with baroque cello with Christoph Dangel until summer 2020. Since September 2020 she studies with Pieter Wispelweij at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Alma is a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and was principal in the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra. She is a co-founder and member of the chamber orchestra Arte Frizzante, which works collectively without musical direction. She has also performed as a soloist with this orchestra.

Alma does not allow a mountain or rock to climb near her.

Giorgio Tedde

Giorgio is giving an important support to Barbara and the Children of Mozambique

Born in Europe he studied Physics, Composition and Electronic Music. He expresses his scientific background in music through a special consideration of the acoustic and tonal features of the sound, and by the research of new chances in the performances by new musical notations. For this, up to now he has got many prizes and acknowledgments with compositions mainly based in timber inquiring. He is interested to psychoacoustical and musical listening processes too, and he exposed his ideas on this matter in several international conferences (“Phenomenology of Musical Communication” at the International Computer Music Conference held in Deen Hag in 1986, “A Physical Theory of Musical Communication” , “Music in Time & Time in Music” at the Darmstadt Ferienkurse of 1992 and at the II Simposio sobre Musica y Ordenador in Cuenca 1992). Big interpreters and very important contemporary music ensembles as Pierre Yves Artaud, Quartetto Arditti, Ciro Scarponi, Massimiliano Damerini, Kees Boeke, Symphonia Warsawia, Hilliard Ensemble, Antonio Politano, have performed his music, sometimes expressly dedicated to them, at the most important music festivals in Europe Asia and America (Darmstadt, World Music Days, Tokyo ICMC, etc..).   His music has been recorded and broadcasted by national radios of France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Argentine, Sweden, Greece, ... and. He teaches Composition in the Italian conservatories.

Alma’s story

Since Alma was in the womb of her Mom, she heard Barbara’s narratives about the Children of the world and, especially the kids of Mozambique, that have to pay a high price due to the innumerous mistakes and horrors of the adult world. She started to learn cello at the age of 4, so by the age of 12, she decided that talking is not all – action speak louder. She took her cello, an old hat and all 3 together went out to the street, finding a nice corner, and started playing. Later that day she went back home, with a huge smile handing over 120$ to her Mom asking her to send it to Barbara’s Children.

Since Alma was born she follows the great example of her parents – to be a part of healing our sick world.
